Cookies

  • symfony – http://www.myelephantmail.co.uk creates a session cookie upon each visit to the site. This session cookie is set when a user visits the application site, and is used to track whether or not they have logged into the system when serving pages. Once the user has logged in, it is used to maintain the logged-in state for the duration of their visit to the site.

Disabling Cookies:


Internet Explorer:

  1. Click on Tools (Alt+T), then Internet Options.
  2. Click on the Privacy tab.
  3. Drag the vertical slider to the top for the Internet zone. This should now state ‘Block All Cookies’.
  4. Click OK.

Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Click on Tools (Alt+T), then Options.
  2. Click on the Privacy tab.
  3. Click on the History drop-down for ‘Firefox wil:’, and select ‘Use custom settings for history’.
  4. Click to uncheck the option for ‘Accept cookies from sites’.
  5. Click OK.

Google Chrome:

  1. Click the spanner/wrench icon in the top-right corner of the browser, then Settings.
  2. Click the ‘Show advanced settings...’ option at the bottom of the settings window.
  3. Under Privacy, click the Content settings... button.
  4. Under the Cookies section, click the ‘Block sites from setting any data’ option.
  5. Click OK.
